We Ride to Promote Cycling for Individuals With all Abilities

The Gateway Cup Ride to Unite kicks off the Gateway Cup Saturday events at Francis Park on Saturday, September 1st. This is a FREE non-competitive 5-mile ride around Francis Park on the closed race course, where adults and children, with and without disabilities ride to promote the message that cycling can be enjoyed by everyone. Plan to stick around after the ride for family fun and front row seats to watch the Gateway Cup races!

Pedal with the Pros

Cyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to ride the race course led by our "Champion Cyclists" who embody the sport of competitive cycling and support us in our mission of creating an inclusive cycling community. Our "champions" include elite pro team cyclists who are racing in the Gateway Cup. Participants will ride four laps around the 1.3 mile Francis Park course, while demonstrating that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy cycling. If four laps is too long of a distance for you to ride, you may leave the course at anytime!

About the Gateway Cup

This year makes the 26th year that the top amateur and professional cyclists from around the United States will converge on St. Louis for four days of cycling over Labor Day Weekend in the Gateway Cup. The Gateway Cup takes place in the heart of four unique St. Louis neighborhoods - Lafayette Square, St. Louis Hills - Francis Park, the Italian Hill Neighborhood and historic Benton Park. Within each of these host communities the race course is defined by an approximately one-mile lap known as a criterium. The Gateway Cup features five - six successive races each day based on ability, ranging from beginner to pros. Each day is highlighted by the feature event, the men's Pro-Am race. In this race, 150 of the nation's top cyclists compete.
