Dream to Reality

My son, Brody Connolly, was born with a neuromuscular disorder that causes severe muscle weakness and confines him to a wheelchair. Before last year, I could only dream of Brody riding a bike. When I heard about ARK's Roll and Sole-A-Thon event last year, we decided to check it out. Much to my surprise, we found two suitable bikes for him at the event! One of the bikes allowed me to peddle and steer as Brody sat on the front, simply enjoying the ride. Using the other bike, Brody was able to ride by himself and watching him peddle away for the very first time was beyond words. Every child should be given the opportunity to experience the pure joy and freedom of riding a bike; to simply put their feet to the pedals and just go. ARK Advocates has made this dream a reality for both myself and my son, and that is something that we will cherish forever. I hope that you will consider contributing to ARK Advocates so that they can continue to fund their lending library and spread joy and independence to many other children and adults like Brody. ~Brody's mom, Jenny Rang
