Cellcom Green Bay Marathon - Alexis Rita Smith

Though I have been blessed with loving relationships, not everyone is always as fortunate. Nationwide, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men will be victims of some type of violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime. Unfortunately Brown County is not exempt from this problem. According to End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin, in the year 2012, Brown County alone averaged 3 reported domestic abuse incidences a day.

Domestic violence can take a detrimental toll on the victim's children, financial situation, emotional, and physical well being. Many times these victims need help to rebuild.
One of the resources available to victims in this area is the Golden House. The Golden House offers individual counseling, temporary shelter, 24-Hour helpline, legal assistance, support groups, transitional housing options, prevention education and more.

This year instead of just running a marathon for myself, I have decided to raise money for a cause I believe in. Please help me reach my financial goal of $300 while I train to run the 2016 Cellcom Marathon in Green Bay. Proceeds will go to the Golden House located in Green Bay.
