At the Erie Runner's Club Beach One Pavillion

The Community Building 5K Charity Run is raising funds for Erie’s Community Shelter Services and Pfeiffer-Burleigh Elementary School (A United Way Community School). All proceeds will be split between these organizations equally.

• Community Shelter Services rebuilds lives by providing refuge and pathways to stability for adults experiencing homelessness and poverty. Community Shelter Services is a welcoming and inclusive community. Every day of the year, we enable individuals to meet their basic needs for food, clothing and shelter. We transform lives using a holistic approach to understanding and addressing behavioral health, housing and employment needs. We commit ourselves to helping those we serve achieve renewed lives of dignity and self-determination.
  
• Community Schools are a strategy for organizing school and community resources around student success. Each Community School is both a place and a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources. Its integrated focus on academics, services, supports and opportunities leads to improved student learning, stronger families and healthier communities. Schools become centers of the community, open to everyone, all day, every day, evenings and weekends.
