5k Loop Around Scenic Fresh Pond
This 5k loop around Fresh Pond starts and finishes on the service road behind the water building and takes place entirely within Fresh Pond Reservation, along historic trails and pathways and verdant woods. From the water building, run clockwise towards the open gate that takes you along the paved pathway and continue past the Golf Course and Little Fresh Pond. Take LEFT at Sousa's Rock, heading up towards Maher Field. Take your first RIGHT, running past the soccer field and through a wooded area that returns you to the Pond. Take a LEFT on the paved pathway, continuing until you reach the front side of the water building, bearing to the right onto the wood chipped pathway that runs along the perimeter of beautiful Fresh Pond. At the top of the hill take a LEFT to finish behind the Water Building, where you started. The run is all in nature - no cars!

Fees and sponsorships benefit Friends of Cambridge Athletics (FOCA), a 501c3 supporting student athletes at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS) and awarding scholarships to deserving scholar athletes and the Andrea Harvey Memorial Fund (AHMF), a non-profit advancing education and raising domestic violence awareness and offering scholarships to CRLS students and East Boston High School (EBHS) students.

Saturday, 4/5, 11:00am-2:00 pm
During bib pick-up, Marathon offers a 20% discount on merchandise.
Race-day pick up at Fresh Pond starting at 7:30am

Pre-race information:
Please arrive by 8 am. The 5k race is entirely WITHIN Fresh Pond Reservation (no cars) and mainly on paved pathways, although a small portion of the run is on wood-chipped pathways and through verdant woods, on a dirt trail.

Are strollers allowed?
Yes, strollers are allowed, but are asked to start behind all the runners.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, leashed dogs are allowed, but are asked to start behind all the runners.
Where do I park?
Closest spots to PARK can be found along Huron Avenue, Lakeview, or Lexington Aves. Please use the Crosswalk @ Huron Ave and to the right of Vassal Lane/Fresh Pond Parkway. It's a very short walk to the Water Building. Please note that TOBIN SCHOOL PARKING is NO LONGER AVAILABLE!
