The 17th Annual America's Armed Forces Kids Run will provide 21,875 military dependent children the opportunity to participate in this Run on 178 Navy and Air Forces Bases, and Army Forts and Garrisons on Saturday May 20th worldwide.

2017 will be the 4th Annual Run on the Rock Island Arsenal. All Children Quad City wide are welcome to participate. The Children will run four distances based on their Ages, and receive the reward of a colorful tee shirt and an America Kids Day Medal when they finish. Children ages 3-4 run 100 yards, 5 and 6 run 1/2 mile, ages 7 and 8 run 1 mile, and ages 9 through 13 run 2 miles, in a safe and secure course on the Rock Island Arsenal. After the race children and parents are welcome to enjoy our family fun zone with face painting, games, and many more activities.

America's Kids Run began in 1986 with 3,800 children participating in the first run in Spokane, Washington. Over the past 25 years 198,000 children ages 5 to 13 have enjoyed the Run in Spokane and in 2002 decisions began to offer it to Military Bases and dependents. The Run has been recognized nationally in National Geographic World, National Road Runners Management, Runner World, USA Today, and voted Best Children's Run by Runner World May 2003.
