General Information |
Starting at 8:00 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2024 participants may pick up their race bags and timing chips at the Jersey Bridge parking lot. Both races will begin at 9:00 AM on the Oil Creek State Park paved bike trail. The 5Kers will proceed south turning onto the hiking trail along relatively level terrain cross the swinging bridge, and follow the Access Road back to Drake Well finishing at the Jersey Bridge Parking Lot.
The 10Kers will start with a loop around Drake Well, proceed up the Gerard Hiking trail on steep terrain, come down and cross the swinging bridge and proceed up the "hill of truth" and finish at the Jersey Bridge parking lot. Water will be available at the midpoints and the end of the race where other refreshments and snacks will be provided. Awards will be given at the end of the races.
The Kids Fun Run is for ages 10 and under and begins at 10:30AM. Starting at the Jersey Bridge, participants will run down the "Dike" along Oil Creek, follow the path around to the small bridge, cross over and run back the "Dike" to the Finish Line at the Jersey Bridge. Each participant may be accompanied by one adult on the course. Medals will be given to the first place boy and girl ages 5 and under, and 6 to 10 years old. The race will not be timed. Mission |
In the past we have provided, with your help, a water storage tank for a Maasai village and also we had a Bible curriculum translated into the native Maasai language. This event is to help raise money for seed, irrigation, labor and education for an organic farm on the Maasai village people’s property.
