Escape from Turkey Mountain

Fleet Feet Sports of Tulsa is pleased to present the "Escape from Turkey Mountain", a challenging addition to Tulsa's racing calendar. Tired of 5k's on the road? This race will definitely break you out of that 5k rut!

The race will be held on Labor Day, September 5, 2011 at 7:00 am. The Two Mile Trail Run will start right after the 5 miler goes off and also will be timed.

Race day registration will open at 6:15 am. Race day registration will be $25 for the 5 mile race and $15 for the two mile run.

The race will be held on a 5 mile trail course in the Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area. The course is challenging and will test your trail running skills and endurance. Water will be provided on the course; however, we do recommend that you consider carrying your own water bottle during the event.

The start and finish will be near the main Turkey Mountain parking lot off of Elwood Ave. To get to Turkey Mountain from the east, take 71st Street west across the Arkansas River to Elwood Ave. Go north on Elwood and the main parking lot will be on the east side of Elwood. If approaching from the west, take HWY 75 to the 71st street exit and go east on 71st to Elwood. Turn north on Elwood and locate the parking lot on the east side of Elwood. Please park in the main Turkey Mountain parking lot off of Elwood.

All entrants will receive a 100% cotton t-shirt. Cool awards to all age group winners and special prizes for overall male and female winners in the 5 mile race. Top 5 males and Top 5 females in the 2 mile fun run will receive awards as well.

Food and refreshments will be provided after the event as well.

Online packets will be available for pick up at Fleet Feet Sports Tulsa at the location you selected during registration beginning on Thursday, September 1, 2011.

Every participant in the 5 mile Trail Run and 2 mile Trail Run must wear a IPICO timing device to receive a time. You will pick up your timing tag on race day at the timing tag pick-up table near the registration tent. You must wear the tag to be timed. The tags will be retrieved in the corral just past the finish line. If you do not start the race or drop out, we ask you to return your tag to the Registration Area which is near the FINISH LINE. Failure to return your tag will result in a $25 lost tag charge.
