The Bashful Ostrich 5k

The Course Starts and finishes at the main building at Scarlet Oaks, 3254 E. Kemper Rd, Sharonville, 45241. Paved asphalt road is extremely flat. USATF-certified and no automobile traffic.

Parking: Plenty of FREE parking on the Scarlet Oaks Campus. There are three entrances to Scarlet Oaks - Kemper Rd, Hauck Rd and Mosteller Rd. To avoid congestion, plan to arrive early. See our website for important details: www.bashfulostrich5K.org/parking

Awards: Overall winners will receive a beautiful Bashful Ostrich prize. Top 15 runners will receive a special award and are eligible for age bracket awards. Please note: Awards will not be mailed-they must be picked up on race day. The top three finishers in each age bracket in the running division will receive Bashful Ostrich awards.

AGE BRACKETS:
RUNNING: 14 and under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70+
WALKING: 1st place awards to fastest male and female walker; top 15 walkers receive Bashful Ostrich awards.

Best Dressed Ostrich Awards: award for a registered walker/runner wearing best ostrich costume during race.

Fund Raiser AwardThe runner or walker who raises the most funds will receive a special award and be recognized in the awards ceremony.

7:00 AM: Race Day Registration and Packet Pick-Up
8:40 AM: Memorial Day Service For U.S. Armed Forces
9:00 AM: Race starts/Runners begin first; Strollers permitted in walking division
9:45 AM: Kids Fun Run (ages 4 and up) - 1K
10:00 AM: Diaper Dash (3 and under) - 100 yards
10:15 AM: Awareness Service - for survivors of sexual abuse
10:20 AM: Awards Ceremony (awards will not be mailed)

The ostrich is symbolically known for sticking its head in the sand. Our goal is to remove society's taboo attached to sexual abuse, allowing the BASHFUL OSTRICH to raise its head in glory and race onto wellness and healing.
